Mental Health Pathways

Mental health services in West Sussex are delivered by multiple organisations, which can make it difficult for people to find and access help.

Independent research found that the key barriers to getting help are that information online is unclear and confusing and people do not know what support they need, so a list of services can be unhelpful.

The impact of this is that some people are not getting the help they need at an early enough stage and, as a result, more people are experiencing a mental health crisis and/or being admitted to hospital.

A toolkit has been co-produced by people with lived experience and service providers. to help people find the right support and services based on how they are feeling rather than how the system of services is structured.
